Historic Pueblo, Inc. will be producing a Historic Cookbook, and we need your help. What will make this cookbook different from other cookbooks? Simple. This cookbook will have history incorporated into it. So, we want an old family recipe that you will be willing to share. When you submit a recipe, we want some history that goes with it, and preferably a photograph related to the history.
What kind of history do we want about the recipe? That depends on you. It could be a brief story about the person who cooked the dish, or how the dish came to be important to you years ago. Do you have a recipe that belonged to someone who used to live in your historic home? We would love to include that as well. Basically, each story will be as different as the recipe.
As for the photograph, we ask that a photograph be included with each recipe. What kind of photograph are we looking for? Again, that would depend on you. It could be a picture from years past of Grandma making her infamous dish, or a portrait of your beloved family member. It could also be a picture of the aged recipe in Grandma's handwriting. If the recipe came from a former member of your historic home, then an old photograph of your house would be great.
Did Grandma also have a favorite saying or adage? Let us know that too. We would love to add that as well.

What will Historic Pueblo, Inc. do with the proceeds from the sales of the cookbooks? HPI will use all proceeds to continue to fund the purchase of bronze landmark and resource plagues, provide matching grant funds, sponsor preservation events, and much more.
Download a submission and release form in either a Adobe pdf format, or a Microsoft Word format. Fill it out, sign it, and mail it back to us, or scan it into the computer and e-mail it to us. Photograph submissions can be either submitted digitally or in hard copy. Hard copy photographs or recipe cards will be scanned by HPI and returned to you if you provide us with a self addressed stamped envelope. We do ask that you limit your submissions to three recipes and stories.
