You are probably asking yourself, "so what exactly is The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly?" This section of our website is dedicated to promoting those individuals that have done a lot preservation work to their homes (The Good). It also is here to bring attention to those homes and businesses that are in desperate need of preservation (The Bad). And finally, to point out those structures that may be past the point of no return (The Ugly).

| This home is owned by David and Nicole Webb. The couple purchased this home in 2006, and have been progressively fixing it up. The home was highlighted on HPI's 2009 Historical Home Tour. This 1900 Queen Anne Victorian has just over 3000 square feet. More can be learned about it at 1007LakeAvenue.com. | |

Berkley Avenue & Vernon PlaceAffectionately known as the Sugar Cube House |
|
| The property is currently listed For Sale By Owner. When contacted several years ago, the owner said he would sell the property as is, or built to suit. This is a property that needs some serious attention, and fast. However, it is not beyond repair at this time. According the the Assessor's Office, the house was built in 1922, and has over 6600 square feet of living space. | |

Lake Avenue & Smith Avenue |
|
| Here is a house on the corner of Lake Avenue and Smith Avenue that needs some attention. It would not take too much. Hopefully someone will be able to address the problems before they get too much worse. | |

| A beautiful Four Square that from the street seems to need work done to its roof and woodwork. | It is hard to see the beauty of this house with the large tress and bushes blocking the view of the front of the home. |
300 Block of West 12th Street |
|
| This house is currently vacant, and for very good reason. It is literally falling apart. There are massive cracks in the foundation and the walls (both interior and exterior). Parts of the windows are missing, and there is a large hole in the back of the house. Sadly, this house that was built in 1900 has been extremely neglected for many years. Currently, the best use for this house may be to strip it of its woodwork, stained glass, and metal fixtures. This house was recently on the market for sale. If someone wanted to tackle the preservation of this house, I have a feeling that the owners would relist it. | |

| Another view from the alley way. The layout of the house is very charming, and one could imagine a happy family inside at one time. | A close up of a large hole in the side of the house, and a missing piece of the stained glass window. The house is now home to a family of squirrels who are currently living in the walls. |
