THE J.A. WAYLAND HOUSE
Since its construction in 1886 by a local developer and publisher J.A. Wayland, this structure has been a prominent fixture in Mesa Junction for over 100 years. Mr. Wayland went onto become a nationally significant publisher and populist progressive fighting for social reforms such as health care, good government, and education. The house is a fine example of a Queen Anne style residence which adds to the unique historic character of the South Pueblo/Mesa Junction neighborhood. Designated 7-12-10
